Becky Pendergrass moved to Nashville in May of 2009 to pursue a career in education. Before she became a teacher, Becky worked as a television news reporter and producer - most recently for a CBS affiliate in Huntsville, AL. During her tenure at WHNT-TV, Becky earned the Associated Press award for “Best Newscast” for her work as an evening newscast producer. In addition to producing, Becky worked as a consumer reporter, covering a wide array of financial stories during the 2008 financial crisis. Prior to working at WHNT-TV, Becky earned a masters degree in Journalism from Regent University. In 2009, Becky became a member of the Nashville Teaching Fellows, a program designed to improve local school systems by training and equipping professionals from other fields to become highly effective teachers. In 2011, Becky earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Belmont University, where she has since worked as an adjunct faculty member for the Department of Media Studies. Becky currently works as the lead Broadcasting teacher for Hillsboro High School, where she founded Burro TV – a high school television program that has earned national recognition for outstanding sports coverage. In addition to teaching, Becky is a co-owner and operator of Revealed Media, a Nashville-based creative boutique that specializes in graphic design and video production.
