I spent 37 years teaching Math 7/8, Algebra I, Honors Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry in Maryland public middle schools (9 years) and in an Annapolis private high school (28 years). For many years, I also created and taught arts and crafts for my daughter's elementary school, Girl Scout troop, and Sunday school.
I like to teach with structured notes that engage my students, followed by creative and fun practice problems, challenge problems, and games.
The "awards" that meant the most to me were the spoken and written words of appreciation from my students and their parents. (I also liked receiving anything chocolate!)
B.A. in mathematics, M.E. in mathematics/education
After teaching for 9 years and while I was a stay-at-home mom, I wrote and illustrated math/craft books for major publishing companies. Best sellers for many years, those books are no longer in print. All of the rights, including the copyrights, have reverted to me. I recently retired from teaching, and I am enjoying updating some of the activities in those books for new generations of teachers, parents, and children. I started my journey on TpT by posting math shapes and fun crafts for young 'uns, but I will soon be sharing my Bible crafts and the middle school and high school math/algebra activities that I created for my classroom in recent years.
