I am a 6th grade math and science teacher with 13 years of experience. I have also taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades in a variety of educational settings, including inner-city, low SES, ELP, and disadvantaged disabled students. My current employment is at a school that does not use textbooks, meaning that we have to think "outside the box" for all of our curricular resources, even though we are held to the same state standards as regular public schools (I'm at a charter school).
I use technology and cross-curricular integration. My school's focus is in inquiry learning, which has a strong constructivist drive, though I do have experience with direct instruction.
