TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a special education teacher with 6 years experience. I have worked with grades pre-K-12th.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think my teaching style could best be described as "on the fly"! I teach what my kids need, when they need it. As a resource teacher, I am constantly reinventing the wheel, digging the wheel out of the storage closet, retreiving the wheel from across the room, making the wheel look like a fun game, insisting that we use the wheel AT ALL TIMES, and covering the wheel in fun duct tape and sparkles.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2010 with a degree in Theater Studies! I loved my job, but life had other plans. After returning to my home town, I saw that there was a need for teachers. I first began as a substitute teacher at the high school level. Most of my students were a head and shoulders taller than me. I decided I needed to be able to see over my student's heads. I began substitute teaching in the elementary school district, where thankfully the kids were shorter and sweeter! After a year of substitute teaching, I was offered a job at the district preschool. I both assisted and taught at the preschool for a year before taking a job as a special education resource teacher. I am currently teaching K-3 in an online environment and loving it!
