TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked as a teacher in grades 9-12 ELA. I am currently an administrator in an Elementary setting.

MY TEACHING STYLE

The final draft, a fingerprint to the intellectual, must reflect the voice of the writer. To accept anything less is shallow, to expect more is monotonous. Keep writing simple. There’s no one way to write correctly and any pursuit to teach or force a single technique is like attempting to overwrite a person's identity. Writing is expression of the mind and not a measure of conformity. When the writer discovers their voice, it must never be silenced.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

91% of my students passed STAAR, and then I was promoted.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors of Arts in English with a Minor in Spanish. Masters in Educational Leadership Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a preacher's kid from Oklahoma living in the big state of Texas.
