TEACHING EXPERIENCE

9 years teaching preschool. Mother of 2 daughters. Master's degree - Physical Education. Live, eat and breathe preschool education, curriculum, and teaching. Consider myself the luckiest woman on earth to have this job - it's the greatest job in the world!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Child - driven teacher. Create areas of study and exploration based solely on interests of children. Promote self help skills and independence and instill a love of learning and trying new things. Focus on making mistakes, experimenting, taking risks, and most importantly, HAVING FUN:)

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

● Chosen as one of thirteen teachers in the nation to participate in M.I.T. based Kaymbu iPad documentation program. ● Chosen as the successor and official trainer of the Storybook Journey curriculum by its creator, Sue McCord. ● Wrote and received grant for the school to participate in Results Matter assessment system which enables all students to be assessed with nationally recognized GOLD system. ● Acted as key agent and coordinator for teachers in preparation of NAEYC accreditation. ● Presenter for annual Colorado Association for Education of Young Children conference in Denver, Fall 2010 and Fall 2011.

● Passed PLACE Test in Early Childhood Education – March 2014. ● Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to meet the emotional, physical, cognitive and social needs of up to 20 children. ● Create and foster positive working relationships with parents and other teachers. ● Constantly evaluate children’s developmental growth while providing a safe environment in the classroom and communicate assessments to parents and other teachers. ● Develop lesson plans and set curriculum standards for all classrooms, Infant through Pre-Kindergarten. ● Provide training seminars to other preschools, parents, and staff on “Creative Curriculum” standards, implementation, classroom environment, and kindergarten readiness.
