TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught for 5 years in Chicago and this is my 4th year teaching in Arizona. I currently teach 3 sections of co-taught Algebra 1-2 and 3 sections of co-taught Geometry. All of my classes are about 30% students with math learning disabilities. As a result, I am always looking for new teaching ideas that address a variety of learning styles.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Though I believe there are some lessons that require direct instruction, I far prefer to spend my days facilitating the students discovering math on their own.

I received my Bachelor's in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 2001. I completed my Master's in Education at Depaul University in Chicago in 2004.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I recently became a full-time mother to 2 adorable children. My son is in 2nd grade, loves math (much to my delight) and enjoys playing MarioKart. He is also mildly autistic which is teaching me a lot about working with the special education students in my classes. My daughter is in kindergarten and wants to be a mermaid when she grows up.
