My teaching style does not fall into the traditional categories of teaching styles; I have more of a blended style. I impart information in small digestible bites that build to the targeted skill. The students work through new material with guided instruction. I model everything explaining each step as we go. Then I give independent practice to allow for personal mastery. I spend a lot of class time on literary analysis because the over-arching goal of English class is critical thinking. I match my style to the task at hand utilizing the best technique for the current students.

I was born in Akron, Ohio and attended Field High School in Brimfield, Ohio. I moved with my family to sunny south Florida 47 years ago and have been enjoying the tropics ever since. I reside in Greenacres (the place to be!) with my fiance, William Eubank, and our cat Oscar. My family lives nearby and we enjoy family time. My passion is literary criticism and teaching is the joy of my life. As I near retirement, I hope to continue to teach writing and to continue writing as well. When I received a silver medal from FAPA for my young adult novel, John Horse: Florida's First Freedom Fighter, I was encouraged to continue.
