TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach Nursery, Primary, Secondary and College students- ranging from 3 years of age of 18 years of age. I teach French and Spanish and have worked in my current school for 10 years. I have been Head of languages but since having my little ones I have become part time and I prefer to inject my efforts into creating wonderful teaching resources (something which there was never time for before!)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm all about walking into the classroom ready to put on a show. I like to have every resource fired up, every card game at hand and a stash of pens at the ready for the forgetful ones. Why? Because this frees me up to be myself. And I'm a bit eccentric (say the unexpected/ do the uncool thing/ make jokes that only I laugh at). It frees me up to move in and out of the kids and give them that bit extra, some sentence they wouldn't find themselves (not even on one of my super duper learning mats). It frees me up to be interested in them, to enthuse them with my passion for languages, to go off tangent for a few minutes to show them something cool on line but get back on track at a moment's notice. I like to be ready and prepared so I can be a facilitator and an inspirer.
