I have always loved learning and knew at a young age that I wanted to teach. My mom and her three sisters are all teachers so I think my love of education was inherited! After graduating from Texas State University I taught FCS courses for 5 years until having my first child and starting my favorite job, as a stay at home mom. I taught Sports Nutrition, Nutrition and Wellness, Career Studies, Dollars and Sense, Interpersonal Relationships, and Restaurant Management. I wrote curriculum for the district for the Restaurant Management and Dollars and Sense courses.
I believe that students learn best in a classroom that facilitates hands on learning and real life experiences that they are able relate to.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science. During my senior year at Texas State University I was awarded Academic Excellence for the FCS teacher certification program. While in school, I was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, a Family and Consumer Science honors society.
I grew up in the public schools in Katy, Texas and always knew I wanted to teach. After taking Family and Consumer Science classes in high school, I had a path that I wanted to follow. I liked the broad range of courses that a FCS teacher would be certified to teach and loved that improving the quality of individual and family life was a common goal for each class. I went to Texas State University and graduated in 2007 with a Family and Consumer Science degree and teaching certification.
I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children. I currently stay home with them and love the fun, wild, unpredictable days that being a stay at home brings!
