My passion for teaching still continues after teaching 30 years in the public school system. I have taught grades kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth. My experience spans across several educational school systems from the states of South Carolina, Michigan, and Indiana. My Bachelors of Science degree in elementary education and masters degree in Learning Disabilities have enabled me to reach out to each student to build a strong academic foundation to allow them to become confident individuals. I am currently working with preschool children to satisfy my desire to reach out to children of all ages. The children that I have the opportunity to teach can be some up in one word ... awesome!
Teaching styles I have used are whole language, four blocks, small groups, and large groups. I have met with children on individual basis to give them encouragement, feedback, and helpful hints to improve their learning skills in specific subject areas. My goal is to let each child know that he/she can be successful!
I was nominated for teacher of the year and received several foundation awards in my name from parents to support educational projects within the school district.
I have a Bachelors of Science degree in elementary education and a Masters degree in Learning Disabilities. My teaching career includes grades kindergarten thru fifth grade in several public school systems.
