This is my 9th year teaching. Besides a 4/5 combo my first year, I've taught exclusively 5th grade since then. I teach all subjects, but I have a particular affinity for Math. I love leading extracurricular stuff too. I had an Invention Club for 5th and 6th graders last year. I've been a Girls on the Run coach twice now. I've organized and put on two plays/performances as well. I get roped into doing extra teacher duties all the time too. I helped create the district ELA pacing guides for 5th grade. I've been on the District Assessment Committee the past two years. I've had the privilege of traveling to participate in some great PD opportunities as well! Basically I'm a teacher nerd.
Not really a textbook kinda gal. I try to make lessons fun and engaging always. I use partner work and group work as much as possible as well. I try to have my students create their own understanding of the concepts I am teaching and guide them through their learning, rather than tell them how.

Raised in San Diego, currently living in Davis, and commute to Fairfield, CA where I teach :) If you're looking for products with cute fonts and colorful images and borders and backgrounds…this is not the store for you! Everything I sell is stuff I've made and used with my own classes, and later looked back at and thought, "Maybe some other teacher will find this useful!" ;)
