I believe in integrating subjects into big topic areas to maximize the amount of learning I can fold into a school day. I believe in reading and writing widely, even with small children. I believe that oral language is the leg of the language arts tripod that is too often overlooked, and that developing fluency and comprehension in our young students needs to begin with speaking and listening.
