TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my ninth full year of teaching and I have taught in Canada, Italy, Micronesia, and on a tall ship while sailing the world!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to vary my classes as much as possible. I do a lot of case studies, study groups, skits/role-playing, games, cross-curricular projects, carefully selected movies, and kitchen science. I don't give very much homework but try to maximize our use of class time. I was recently told by a student that she was (pretend) mad at me because I don't let her use her phone in my class AND she has to work hard to get good marks. I took it as a compliment :)

I have a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics (University of Guelph), a Master of Science in Biochemistry with a specialization in Human and Molecular Genetics (University of Ottawa), and a Bachelor of Education (Intermediate/Senior Science and Math).
