For the last 6 years I have had the joy of teaching kindergarten to fifth grade students with behavioral and emotional disabilities. As this new school year starts I will be transitioning to a high school teacher. I will continue working with behavioral students on this level. I am very excited for this new chapter in life!
I love using interactive journals and visuals for teaching. I find that my kids enjoy learning that way and do well with the hands on activities. I use journals for pretty much every subject. I enjoy doing centers as well in class to reinforce things we have already learned. We have centers for math and word work every day. Some things I make and others I find from other teachers on TPT!
Nominated for First year teacher of the year. Nominated for employee of the month in JCS in 2014.
I went to Campbell University., where I cheered for four years. I was originally a Pre-Law major but fell in love during community service events with kids. I then changed my major to Education and then Special Education. I graduated in May of 2012.
I LOVE my job. I truly enjoy teaching and the chaos that comes with it. My husband is also a teacher and we get the pleasure of teaching at the same school now! I am a mother to one wonderful son. He has made life so enjoyable and given us many memories. If I am not home I am either at the football field or on the beach. My goal in life is to help children and make a difference in their life and education!
