We have a wealth of experience in public education! Vivian has 30 years of teaching, mostly in 4th and 5th grades along with Special Education, first, and third grades. Judy has 20 years of teaching in grades k-4 and multi-age classrooms.
Our teaching styles have incorporated many innovative aspects, using environmental education projects, public service and cooperative learning.
Both Vivian and Judy have been trained in the EIC model and have been noted for their environmental projects including community rain barrel give-aways, a cancer center healing garden, chestnut tree project, sturgeon release program and a 3 rivers honorary garden. In addition, both have been selected as Teacher of the Year for their school. Vivian has National Board Certification and has been a Teacher Consultant for the Georgia Geographic Alliance. She has presented at state and national level conferences on literature, social studies and geography. Also, Vivian was selected to attend a social studies workshop sponsored by National Geographic on the Navajo Reservation and to present her environmental education projects at an international conference in Beijing, China.
Both Judy and Vivian have achieved a Master's degree in education and Judy has a Specialist's degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a Reading Endorsement.
