Making Music is an interactive lab. Students will measure various volumes of water and using test tubes, create different sounds. They will experiment with the relationship between volume of water, air and the pitch of the sound.
This interactive lab allows the students to calculate their speeds doing various tasks. It gets them out of their seats and doing science. Students use their data to calculate their speeds as well as manipulate the equation to calculate time.
Basic Principles, General Science, Physical Science
This is an interactive station lab for heat transfer.
Conduction using chocolate chips and different strips of metal
Convection: Using beakers and different temperature water with food color
Radiation: Using Vernier LabQuest2 or simple
Reference table for physical science with both Chemistry and Physics. Great for a General Science class or Physical Science class. I use this with my 7th graders. Using this in middles school helps the students ease in to using them in Earth
Simple graphing of speed and calculating acceleration. Great for homework or classwork. Includes concepts on constant speed and acceleration in relation to the appearance of the graph. Could be used for a common core math; Ration and Proportinal
Inquiry lab perfect for Halloween. Students use their scientific method skills to see if they can determine how many candies are in a package or small box.
I use small boxes of candies per each lab group.
Students will measure the mass, length, width and height of regular objects and calculate the volume. Students will also find the volume of irregular objects using water displacement. This is a great way to reinforce measurement skills as well as
This three layer foldable/graphic organizer incorporates the two states of energy with several forms of energy as well as mechanical energy and the law of conservation of energy. Each layer is meant to have the students draw examples on one side
