I grew up studying classical ballet and pointe with Robert Thomas and Miyoko Kato of the Joffrey Ballet and earned a BFA in Dance from the University of Iowa with a focus in ballet, modern dance and performance. My love for children has inspired my work as a nanny, an aide for teens with autism, an English teacher in Taiwan and an arts volunteer in Uganda and Paraguay. I have been a Registered Yoga Instructor since 2008 and have developed and taught yoga and creative movement programs in public and private schools in Taipei, Chicago and New York City. I now live in Portland, Maine, where I teaches for The Portland Ballet, Waynflete Schools, La Petite Ecole, Reiche Elementary and The Rooted Collective. As a Maine Arts Commission Teaching Artist, I have been selected to hold creative dance residencies for kindergarten students in Brunswick and Deer Isle, Maine. Awarded a MAC Dance Ed Grant for 2018, I am teaching creative dance to kindergarteners at East End School in Portland this spring.

I am a lifelong mover sharing my love of joyful somatic experiences with curious spirits of all ages! My teaching style is creative and intuitive, based on each individual's needs and abilities. A class is a dialogue of moving bodies; a conversation that uses embodied social-emotional learning to strengthen both autonomy and connectedness within a community. I offer movement classes for all ages, inspired by yoga, creative dance, ballet and fitness.
