I have 14 years of public school teaching experience. I've had my own classes of Grade 3s, Grade 4s, and combined classes at the 5/6 level. Eleven of those years have been dedicated to teaching beginner French to all the students at the grade 5-7 level in one or two schools. I have sometimes had over 300 students per year! I also managed to squeeze a few Kindergarten Music classes into my schedule which proved to be a fun change of pace. Learning is an amazing process to be a part of, at all grade levels!
In my classroom I promote: -taking risks to speak French in class -the value of all languages and cultures -the importance of strong character and integrity -warm humour and genuine caring
Any time a student says "This is fun!" is a good moment. I have had the honour of sharing my ideas with colleagues and student teachers. I have learned a lot from 11 years of teaching French, and still have even more to learn!
I have a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies (three minors: French, History and Education) and a fifth year teaching certificate. I still find that these subjects are three of my favourite go-to study choices! I am a product of 13 years of French Immersion, have been on two trips to Quebec and spent a month in France.
I appreciate any and all feedback. If you think something needs improvement, let me know. It is possible for me to make some changes which you can then re-download for free, so if you do leave a request, please be specific, and then be sure to check back in to see my response. I also love knowing approximately what grade you're teaching and how: Immersion or Core French/FSL. It will help me know my audience a little better and fine-tune the creation process. Thanks! Update: These days I don't always reply to ratings unless it is a request, etc, as I feel that my response can distract from what buyers want to know, which is what other buyers think. However, you can be sure that I read every comment and value each one. Merci!
