I have taught cello at all levels, from preschool to adult, in both group and individual lesson formats. I have taught in a number of schools, and in my private teaching studio. I have also taught undergraduate classes in nineteenth-, twentieth-century and Australian music history at university, and have tutored undergraduate students in counterpoint, harmony, performance and, more specifically, cello performance.
I teach with an emphasis on achieving a good tone and balanced posture while playing. I mainly teach the traditional cello literature/ canon, introducing reading early on, although I am always on the lookout for new music and material to incorporate in my lessons.
