TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 8 years in a high-poverty area. I recently took a new position as a Reading Specialist but taught 5th grade for seven years. In addition, I have been a spelling bee coach, tutor, and student newspaper editor. I am currently the RTI Coordinator for my school as well as a Battle of the Books coach.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love consistency, structure, and good management! I like challenging my students to think differently about the things they may know, to keep an open mind, and learn tolerance for all. I use higher-order thinking skills daily in my classroom in order to create life-long critical thinkers.
