I have been teaching English to high school students for 25 years at all levels. In my repertoire I've come to appreciate the quick teachable moments that occur quickly throughout the day, and I fill every minute I have with my students, with opportunities to learn. My long term lessons and short term lessons are designed with all of our students in mind. If we keep them thinking, they will develop the habit of thinking. This is how we all grow and learn. I model this with my students as I am always learning.
I always have a big picture plan, though I go with the back up ideas in my back pocket often. Having a Plan B is essential to teaching. When the lesson strays or the time is cut short, my flexible style and sense of humor gets us through the day successfully.

I am a mom of four children and three dogs and three cats. I have directed many plays and have acted a bit as well. I live in the country in rural Wisconsin, and though I am not rich financially, I am very rich in my quality of life. I am looking forward to sharing some of my successful, tried and true ideas with you....and I wish this site was available when I began teaching in the dark ages! What a gift!
