I now teach as a High School English Language Arts Teacher in Ohio! Here, we are not assigned to one grade level. We teach 10th, 11th, and 12th grade with all different schedules every semester! This semester, I am teaching 10th grade co-taught with an intervention specialist, regular 10th grade, and 11th grade. Next semester, I am teaching regular 10th grade, co-taught 12th grade and regular 12th grade!
I am a teacher who LOVES mixing it up. Classroom rapport/student engagement is a huge value in my teaching philosophy. I will try just about anything to grab my students' attention! I love classroom transformations for new units to get students excited, learning stations, projects, and escape rooms to captivate even the most reluctant of students, and creating a healthy and safe environment for my students. One of my featured products, "Building Classroom Rapport: Mental Health and Wellness Activity - Stations" will help take a burned-out and stressed group/teacher and turn them into one that grows together through a day of therapeutic and positive activities via learning stations. Mental health is so important and this activity supports the teacher and students' mental health for a supportive classroom environment. I like to think that the activities I create are new, innovative, and creative! I will continue to challenge myself to research new education trends and make it relevant in my classroom and products!
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University and was lucky enough to win several scholarships and awards through leadership positions I held in educational organizations. I am also certified as a Highly Qualified Teacher.
I am originally from Stow, Ohio, a suburb of Akron, Ohio, where I attended Stow-Munroe Falls High School from 2010-2014. My junior and senior year, I was accepted into The Six-District Career Tech Program where I was in the Teaching Professions Program. This program gave me two additional years of lesson plan ideas, field experiences, collaboration with other future teachers, and creation of an IPDP and educational portfolio. I then attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 2014 and graduated with a Bachelor's in Science in Education for Adolescent Young Adult Education with a specialization in Integrated Language Arts in 2018. I hope to get my Masters in Higher Education or Curriculum Design in the near future!
I hope the resources I can provide will make your life easier and enhance the fun and engagement you have already created in your classroom! Please reach out to me at email@example.com or @booksandbloomteaching on Instagram if you have any questions! :)
