My style is fun, engaging, motivational, interactive and student-centered. I provide thoughtful, supported activities and lessons that help students to activate or initiate background-knowledge, organize information, or apply information. I set clear guidelines and expectations and provide students at every level with the resources and scaffolds they may need in order to be happy and successful. Lessons and activities in my class are creative, collaborative and memorable.

I was a difficult elementary student because I had very high energy, creative instincts and terrible self-control strategies. I became the kind of teacher I always wished I had. I went from someone who hated going to school, to someone who can't wait to get to my class and experience the joy of teaching and learning in a true learning community. My classroom is a space of investigation, collaborating and love. I hope that some of my strategies and resources can help you have the kind of inspiring teaching experiences I have every day. Students who hated reading and writing now enjoy sharing a good book with their friends. They have the ability and desire to explain their thinking and feelings in writing. There is no secret formula to teaching. Just be prepared, find the love, and do your best.
