TEACHING EXPERIENCE

When I was asked what I wanted to be when I was younger, I always said a teacher! Now, here I am entering my 13th year of teaching! I have absolutely loved every minute of it! I taught 4th grade special education students for 3 years and 2nd grade for 2 years. I have taught 1st grade for the past 8 years. My love of children began when my younger brother was born when I was 7. I babysat for lots of neighborhood families, worked at a YWCA after-school program and summer camp, worked at a Daycare Center, and was a coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Children are sponges who need to experience learning with hands-on activities, games, and manipulatives to develop a deep understanding and love of learning! I LOVE incorporating literature, the Smartboard, and partner games whenever possible!
