This is a resource that I use pretty frequently in ALL of the social studies courses I have taught. It is a play on a Frayer Model that asks students to: 1) Define the term in their own words, using ten words or less 2) Use the term in a complete

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my fifth year teaching in an urban district that is both overcrowded and underfunded, but luckily full of passionate educators and wonderful students. My challenge is to motivate my kiddos to care not only about my subject, but about becoming life long learners and productive global citizens.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in building a strong foundation, challenging my students to think harder, and always setting high standards for my class. I love to encourage discussion, Q&A sessions, and allow students to take initiative wherever possible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My shining teacher awards are those AHA moments that I cherish. It's when a student tells me that they love history, have a favorite presidents, or get excited to talk about the class.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.A. in History, B.A. in Religious Studies, & Masters of Education all from Southern Methodist University. Pony Up!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a lady whose been described as "bossy" and "busy" my whole life. It's become the way I define my personality. Good grief, who isn't busy? What's wrong with being bossy? Nothing! I am passionate about creating content that is meaningful, helpful, and applicable for all students of history. I hope to facilitate learning outside of my own classroom by sharing these resources.
