All children have the capacity to become accomplished learners, and I believe that it is the responsibility of all educators to not only be aware of this, but to also guide students to their full potential. I believe in the importance of providing high quality educational opportunities, and my ongoing goal is to lead learners toward excellence by preparing them to become responsible citizens in a diverse and multicultural global community. My leadership experiences in Canada, Australia, Colombia, and most recently in China have helped to strengthen my beliefs regarding the importance of experiential learning and providing students with a variety of opportunities to demonstrate their strengths and abilities. My philosophy of educational leadership reflects these beliefs, and an understanding that by fostering a learning environment in which children feel safe, supported, valued, and inspired is critical to the learning process

I am originally from a small town near Toronto, Canada, where my love of sports and the great outdoors blossomed. In 2006 my sense of adventure and love of travel prompted my decision to begin teaching within the international school setting. My years as an international educator in Australia, Colombia, China, and the Philippines have provided me with wonderful experiences and professional opportunities. I have been a middle school Social Studies and English teacher, chair of multiple English departments, coordinator of Middle School House Programs, teacher mentor, and life-long learner with administrative aspirations. Exploring new parts of the world while working as a part of a high caliber international school is a privilege. I look forward to collaborating with wonderful students, and being a part of an inspiring international community on a daily basis!
