I taught EC from 1999 - 2011. I taught inclusion, resource and self-contained for a classroom of students with severe communication disorders and autism. I have worked in Central Office Administration but missed the students so I am back teaching a Kindergarten/First Grade combo. I also teach pre-service teachers at Lenoir-Rhyne University. My first year in Alexander County Schools, I was named the Teacher of the Year for the district. I have also been named Top 10 Under 40 and Best Teacher by the local newspaper and I was honored to be named to ASCD's Emerging Leaders class 2015.
