I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2013 and have been the 6th grade teacher of record for students with mild to moderate disabilities for the past five years. Within these five years, I have experience co-teaching science, social studies and ELA but also have my own classroom where I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade math as well as a resource class (structured study hall for students with IEPs). My classes started off as self-contained math classes for students solely with IEPs and have evolved to include students that are in the general education population that have struggled with math in the past. Because I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade, I am fortunate enough to loop with my students for their middle school experience and be their "Mr. Feeny" in a way.
My passion and goal within my classroom is to assure every student is heard on a personal level and gains confidence within a subject that typically makes them uncomfortable through: -Hands on activities that reach all styles of learning -Spiral homework to assure all math standards stay within their working memory -Anything that makes students laugh, smile and get excited about learning
