TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching off and on for 44 years, since I received my BS in elementary education from Utah State University. I took some time off to raise my four children. I have taught in the public school system and the private school sector. I have also been a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, substitute teacher and a reading specialist. I have also done volunteer work teaching school aged children for approximately 25 years. These experiences have allowed me to see many different teaching and learning styles. I have adapted my curriculum to reflect these. I engaged and tweaked information I was presented in university classes, used effective ideas learned from working and volunteering in various classrooms, and developed ongoing techniques to meet the needs of the ever changing student population.
