TEACHING EXPERIENCE

A veteran teacher of 25 years, I currently work at my own alma mater in the Upstate of South Carolina. I mostly teach 11th graders (American Literature), but I have also taught 9th and 10th grade ELA as well. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, a Master's Degree in Education, and my Ed.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I classify my style as high energy with humor and creativity infused on a daily basis. A lover of the theater, I use a great deal of role playing and active learning in my classroom. In addition, I utilize project-based learning to connect the classics in the American literary canon to everyday life in my small town.
