I have been teaching since 1996 and have taught all grades from 3rd through 8th. I have taught all subject areas, but have spent the majority of time in ELA classrooms. I have taught general education students, special education students, honors students, and ESL students.
Teaching is a way to show the students how they can become equipped to be life-long learners. Teaching students to think is of utmost priority, and is a necessary skill.
Recognized as one of the top three teachers (for student scores) for the county for the first two years of teaching in the current county. (2015-2016 and 2016-2017)
I studied in education (K-4 and 5-8) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
I have six children (two adopted, two biological, and two stepchildren) ranging in ages from 8-26. I am happily married to my best friend, and am always looking for ways to better myself in my educational experience. I have traveled many places (Trinidad, Mexico, Canada, Japan, France, Kenya, Italy, Ukraine, Belgium, England), and like to use whatever experiences I have to draw interest from the students.
