TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my fifth year of teaching. I taught for three years in the state of West Virginia and then moved to Virginia where I am currently teaching. In West Virginia I taught at a high school where I was able to teach students ranging from 9th-12th grades. While in West Virginia I was teaching under Common Core state standards. During those three years I piloted the Common Core Program for Math 1, Math 2 and Math 3 courses. I assisted during that time in writing the curriculum that the school system is currently still using. In Virginia I have been teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Personal Finance classes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy giving notes to my students to start the lesson. I believe that giving notes in a very structured format is helpful. After notes my class structure is practice, practice, practice!
