I have taught public elementary school for 15 years. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade self-contained as well as 3rd grade ELA and social studies. I have also been a campus ESL coordinator at a charter school, in which I ran my campus ESL program and did ESL pull-outs for students who needed extra support with reading and writing. I was a district instructional coach for one year. I moved over the summer and now I am a 4th grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher. I love my job!
I love working with kids in small groups. I think learning should be focused, motivating, and engaging. I get kids moving and working/talking with each other during a lesson whenever I can. I always incorporate higher level thinking; it's a must!
