This is my fourth year teaching. I started out as a title one aide and the year after got my first teaching job. I taught third grade for two years and then my husband got a job elsewhere. I interviewed for a second grade job, thinking it wasn't that much of a stretch from third grade. Little did I know that there was a first grade job open as well. The first grade teachers wanted me and I reluctantly said yes. I have loved first grade and this is my second year teaching first.
I am a firm believer in cooperative learning. I have my students seated in groups and love that they talk to each other and help one another. I love letting them talk to their peers since they are more likely to talk in a small group than a large one.
I attended college at Brigham Young University-Idaho and received my Bachelors in Elementary Education there. I am in the process of getting my ESL endorsement and I continue to take classes each year to better my teaching practices.
Teaching and trying to be a good wife is what my life consists of currently. I do not yet have any children, but hopefully I will have some sweet kiddos of my own someday! I have a sweet puppy and he is my child for now. I love exercising and being outdoors. I love chocolate and can't get enough of it to keep me going on those hard days. I am grateful to be entrusted with the learning of many sweet children and I love what I do!
