I have taught 30 years...14 years in Kindergarten; 5 in third grade; 1 in second grade; and 10 in first grade! First grade is my favorite! I have also taught an adult college level introduction to education class for Darton College in Albany, Ga.
My teaching style mixes experience with fun! My classroom is the place I want to be and I have created that kind of environment for my first grade "buckaroos". My classroom is decorated western from outside to inside! We live by the cowboy mantra...cowboy up! The buckaroos learn the standards in a fun, innovative way through the use of creative lesson plans I create. They build on specific units of study and involve games, experiments, cooperative learning, whole group as well as small group station-centered activities.
