TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching career spans 1975 to the present. It has been wonderful to teach at many levels (middle school, high school, college) as well as a variety of subjects.(Science, Study Skills, English and Reading.)

MY TEACHING STYLE

It easier for me to have a theme/topic and then pull/create resources to facilitate instruction. Then, I put myself in my student's place and I ask myself, what is going to hold my attention, for how long and is it relevant? Every time I come across something that I think would work in the class room, I save it for later use. My computer nut/nerdiness comes into play to create what I think my students will like.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My biggest honor is students coming back and thanking me, that they finally "got" what we were trying to do in class and that they miss me and my class.

When I can get my million mile an hour brain to slow down, I enjoy a morning cup of coffee sitting on the dock, looking out across the sunrise. In addition, I enjoy time with my grandchildren, travel, water sports, music, reading, hiking handicrafts and gardening.
