TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Creating a safe learning environment for students from a diverse socio-economic background. Developed Common Core curriculums for students with the emphasis in Mathematics. Single-handedly developed Algebra I pacing guide that is related to the new Common Core State Standards; creating Benchmarks Assessments for the district; developing SMART goals for each individual student. MY TEACHING STYLE

I know that the only way my students can learn math, or any subject, is for them to feel safe in their learning environment. My math class is a place where it is safe for them to be unique, to be loved for their uniqueness, to persist through mistakes, and to have open discussions without judgment. A typical day in my classroom is not so typical because students’ learning is personalized daily. I see the class as individual students, not a group collective. Some days, students work on computers to grasp fundamental concepts; others on project-based learning; others meet with me for teaching or reteaching.
