I've worked in teaching for around 14 years - from the busy classrooms of Reception - through Key Stage 2 into SEN and SEMH. My background is Quality Assurance - systems and processes. Which is why I create resources that have a 360 approach. They assess and inform future teaching. The assessment grid for key objectives are linked directly to the National Curriculum. These can then be copied and pasted onto a lesson plan, 'I can statements' for success criteria and display boards. They are perfect for busy class teachers, subject leaders through to senior management. The information they give, not only identifies gaps in a child's knowledge or skill-base - but also evidence of any impact of improvements made in the school. For example, if there is a trend of poor progression throughout KS1 for data analysis in Term 1/2 - the science and numeracy subject leaders could create medium term planning to improve this. This would then be reflected in Term 3 assessment data.
I believe in teaching children how to become independent learners. I teach children the skill of learning. I achieve this through; higher order questioning, correct scaffolding, VAK learning styles and collaborative learning.
