TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught both second and third grades with an emphasis on writing! I taught writing to two classes and loved to incorporate writing in other activities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Thematic units are a great way to integrate reading, math, and those other subjects such as writing and social studies. Anything that allows students to show their creativity or explain things in a hands-on way is a win!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My biggest honor as a teacher was when a student deemed the "bad egg" by many, realized I cared and began reaching for his full potential. His note in my yearbook made all the work worth it. I also love to hear from my former students who are now adults. Knowing that I helped them grow academically and as people is the greatest honor.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.
