TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello! I am an elementary music teacher. I teach general music to my 1st - 5th graders as well as band, choir and drama.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Growing up music was my LEAST favorite subject in school! I couldn't stand coming in, sitting down in a chair, and opening up my music book to listen to an outdated popular artist the book claimed was relevant to my life. When I decided to become a music teacher, I promised myself that my students wouldn't have time to breathe let alone time to be bored in class! All my lessons are interactive and require my kids to get up and move. I love creating lessons that make my students go "WOW!"

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Multiple honors earned in college as part of the world renowned University of Delaware Chorale!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I studied music education at the University of Delaware under the direction of Dr. Suzanne Burton. Other influential professors that have shaped my teaching style and mission include Dr. Paul Head, Dr. Blake Smith, Dr. Melanie Dement and Betsy Kent.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In addition to working full time as a music teacher I continue to work a second job because I just love retail!

Teachers Pay Teachers
