I have been teaching special education for the past seven years. These past three years I have had the opportunity to wear two hats. I spend part of my day as a special education teacher working with 2nd graders and I spend the other part of my day work with students in our Reading Recovery program. I have taught within a resource setting, self-contained, and co-taught classroom in the areas of literacy and math.
Being in special education, I am always trying to find creative ways to engage students and reach their learning styles. Many activities will include auditory, visual, and kinesthetic approaches to meet the needs of all learners.
