I have been in public education since 1995 earning a BA in Education, Masters in Teaching, and currently have completed 54 hours toward a Doctorate in Education. I love working with students and firmly believe they learn at much higher levels when classroom activities are exciting and fun! I also know that a highly creative classroom decreases discipline issues. Not only do the students have fun but I also enjoy the day and suffer way less headaches than other educators I have met over the years.
I teach my students the SC Standards through highly engaged activities which promote higher levels of learning and engagement.
President and Dean's List throughout college career, 3.8 GPA for M.A.T, and 3.9 GPA for doctoral program. South Carolina Certified in 6-12 Social Studies. I have also privately taught K-12 (all subjects). Traditional classroom and online instructor.
I grew up with a form of dyslexia that was not diagnosed until I reached the age of 21. I have spent many years researching best practices and evaluating individual/group learning styles within my own classroom settings. I have taken this information and created awesome lessons that I have decided to share with anyone that might be interested.
Often teachers are told to engage students but many only understand the lecture process and not what it really takes to motivate students. For years, I have had teachers come to me and ask for stimulating ideas (normally during evaluation times..lol) about various subjects, so I decided it was time to create this account and share with anyone that might be interested. Most of my activities can be incorporated into any subject or grade level.
