I am a National Board Certified Teacher and have been teaching in high poverty, linguistically diverse settings for 17 years and currently teach in such a school with a traditional educational program. Previously, I worked as a bilingual Spanish/English teacher in a dual language school for 10 years. I previously worked as an Instructional Coach for over 5 years. On some school breaks and weekends, I train other educators in Language Acquisition Strategies and Culturally Responsive Teaching.
I believe in using multiple modalities (music, kinesthetic learning, visuals, auditory cues, drama, primary Spanish language) to present content and to engage students in practicing content. I believe in providing students with strategies to become independent learners through guided practice and metacognitive strategies. I believe that we can all do difficult things! I work for my students to believe that too.

This store is a family enterprise. I have three children who are musically and artistically talented. My husband has been affected by paraplegia all his life and uses a wheelchair, yet he is an exemplar of the "can do" attitude. With his technology support, together we all create materials for my "can do" classroom.
