TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 14 years of professional experience teaching French Immersion from grades 1 through 5. I have moved from school to school and grade to grade numerous times and have learned that often, what works for one grade can be tweaked to fit just about any grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a huge believer in incorporating technology into my daily routine to help keep students engaged. I love using a problem-solving approach to math and get great joy from seeing how proud they are of themselves when they work through something that they didn’t think they could do.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have attended Mount Saint Vincent University for my Elementary Education training and was voted as valedictorian of my class. I have also received numerous grants through the Halifax Regional School Board and Provincial Government to incorporate technology, stations/centers and reader’s theatre into my classroom practice.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold an Elementary Education Bachelor certificate from Mount Saint Vincent University and am currently working on my Certificate of French Proficiency through Acadia University.
