South University • Professor, Disaster Studies, 40 hour classroom course, Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori, Pavia, Italy • America's Waterways Watch Instructor and Team Leader, Portland, OR • Sea Partners Instructor and Team Leader, Seattle, WA • U.S. Coast Guard instructor, certified since 1987. • • Captain (O6) Retired, U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Extensive first hand senior Coast Guard officer experience with disaster response, recovery and planning. MY TEACHING STYLE

Present lessons learned from disasters in PowerPoint format; discuss disaster events and what can be learned from each. Discuss and review various events, response organizations, emergency response issues and emergency preparedness. Optional exercises and tests follow most presentations.
