I have been teaching for over 20 years. During my teaching career, I have had an opportunity to teach grades k-5. Over the past 5 years, I was an early intervention teacher. In order to meed the diverse needs of my at-risk learners, I have been trained to use the Orton-Gillingham approach. This experience has truly revolutionized my teaching. Therefore, I have become even more intrigued with literacy and strategies to ensure success for all learners.
"All children can learn and can be taught. If you can not learn the way that I teach, then perhaps, I can teach the way that you learn." ~ unknown This quote truly epitomizes my philosophy of teaching. I tenaciously seek strategies and techniques to effectively meet the needs of all of my students. When doing so, I focus on learning styles as well as multiple intelligences. Each child has a unique gift to offer and it is my goal to nurture and cultivate those gifts.
