TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am passionate and dedicated to STEM education, and have 13 years experience as a STEM educator in varying capacities. From inner-city middle and high school science teacher to nationwide STEM curriculum development, I've dedicated my life to helping students discover the tremendous opportunities in STEM.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I started Career In STEM in May of 2017 out of the frustrations I experienced as an inner city middle and high school science teacher in Hartford, CT. My students had no idea what they wanted to be. And think about it – how do you know what you want to do until you have DONE it? The truth is, you won’t, and I couldn’t find a fun and easy way to help my students learn about STEM careers – so I made one, and Career In STEM was born! I know God has given each and every one of us tremendous talents and gifts. In the next 5 years my mission is to equip every educator in America with the tools they need to quickly and easily help their students discover STEM, dream big, and build a future they love.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have made recognized contributions to the field of STEM education, including featured publications, academic papers, and presentations at local, state, and national conferences regarding my innovative approaches to K-12 STEM career exploration and preparation.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

My background is deeply rooted in excellence in STEM education. I hold a BS degree from the University of Connecticut, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010, earning a spot among the merely 25% of US female college graduates earning degrees in science. In 2012 I earned my MS degree in Secondary Education (Science Concentration) from Eastern Connecticut State University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude.
