TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 16 years. I started my teaching career in Houston, Texas. While I was teaching in Houston I had the opportunity to teach in a fourth and fifth grade multi-age classroom in a year round school. I also taught third grade for two years in Houston. I am currently teaching fourth grade students in Ohio.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach using both traditional and hands-on methods. I really emphasize the importance of learning vocabulary in all areas!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I enjoy grant writing and I have received several grants, including a \$5,000 Student Achievement grant through the National Education Association.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA and MA in Education

I enjoy reading and spending time with my children! I LOVE to try new ideas in the classroom and get bored when I use traditional textbooks to teach my students.
