TEACHING EXPERIENCE

27 years teaching English/Language Arts, creative writing, STAAR/EOC preparation and remediation. I've taught mostly 10th/11th/12th grade English, but have an experience range from 7th grade regular English/LAnguage Arts to Sophomore College level courses. I spent many years teaching Pre AP and AP English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love my kids and want them involved. Each of them has a valid truth that needs to be told, so I tend to focus on their writing and ways we can add imagery and sophistication. I have great success with all level students but particularyly with my reluctant readers and writers because they feel safe enough in my room to take a chance... and that's a good day in my book!
